MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking)
The control algorithm by which an inverter continuously finds the voltage-current combination that extracts maximum power from a panel as light and temperature change. Multi-MPPT microinverters track each panel input independently, so shade on one panel does not drag down the others.
Why it matters
Per-panel MPPT is why microinverter-based balcony systems tolerate partial shade far better than string systems — a decisive property on real balconies with railings and roof edges. Input count and per-channel limits also determine how far a kit can be over-paneled.
